Home Sweet Home!

This be her! Our little Texas home! Well, part of her anyway. She is a little bit longer, but not much :) Shanam did a great job finding us a place to live while we're here. We have two huge trees in our front yard and hopefully we'll get some grass growing soon :) It really is perfect and I've had so much fun decorating! I'll post some before and after pictures of the inside in a later post.

Mountain Bike Extravaganza

Shanam LOVES to mountain bike...I've never been. Does this story sound familiar? I have a feeling this is the way our life is going to be :) While camping in Riodoso, our biggest goal was to go mountain biking, obviously we did, cuz you see us smiling holding our bikes. This picture was taken on day one. This is also after having gone on a 5 mile hike earlier that day. (That one was all me...I love hiking.) We start our ride that day on an easy little path going up into the mountains. Not bad, but I could feel every muscle in my body screaming. It was a 2 or 3 mile ride and the best part was coming down :) We decided not to go again til the next day and to get some rest. Next day...I could barely move, my body hurt so bad. Can you tell I need to get in better shape to keep up with this man?! :) He doesn't let me whimp out and we get an early start on our 8 mile, 1350 ft vertical rise bike ride. Notice how there is no day 2 picture. I really did try to put a smile on my face, though. But, I could barely sit down because my bum was so bruised from the hard seat and any little incline set my legs on fire. What was I supposed to do!? Wonderful Shanam wasn't giving up, though. We ended up pushing our bikes up and riding em down. How's that for an introduction to mountain biking :) Moral of the story: Bethany needs to get in better shape, mountain biking really is fun, and Shanam needs to get an award for being the most patient husband alive!

Memorial Day Campout!

Posted by Picasa
It's been three weeks since we've been in the mountains and Shanam is already homesick, so we had to take a little four hour trip to New Mexico for some mountain air. We found a great spot and set up camp :) Right next to our camp site was a deer trail so we had fun following it that night after dinner. No deer, though, just deer droppings :(

Our Little Set Up

Isn't this spot gorgeous! No one around for miles :)

Shanam had cooking duty on the first night and made us an amazing salmon and ginger vegetable dish. It was delicious! The second night I made us veggie pizza quesadillas. Pretty great menu for our first camping trip :)

You have to roast marshmellows camping. You just have to :) Even if it is over your lantern due to fire restrictions! It worked out pretty well!

More pictures!

So, some of you have requested to see more pictures of the honeymoon, and of course we want to show you! Here is a link to a web album (which I'm hoping works) for your viewing pleasure :) As far as wedding pics go, I'll do the same thing as soon as I get them :)

Honeymoon in Paradise!

This is only a tiny portion of the 350 photos we took in St.Lucia. Hopefully it gives you a good idea of the amazing time we had there! We've decided we're going back for our 25th anniversary :) Enjoy the photos!

Right after being married

I love this man!

I loved my bouquet!

And I loved my cake!

We could not have asked for a more perfect day! It was everything I had ever imagined it being! Huge thanks to my mother for making it all come together and my father for allowing me to have my dream wedding! It was so wonderful to see all our loved ones together and see family and friends come from far away to celebrate with us. We love you all and are so grateful you came!

The tender feelings Shanam and I shared that day will never be forgotten. We thank our Heavenly Father every day for guiding us into eachothers' lives. We feel so blessed to have been married in the temple and look forward to all the adventures ahead!
